Srnec Theatre (read Srnets Theatre) is the first Black Light Theatre in the world. More than 5 million spectators have already visited our performance. We hold regular international tours. After the foundation of the theatre in 1961 we repeatedly performed in 77 theatre festivals in 68 countries around the world. Srnec Theatre belongs among the most important representatives of the Czech art in the world, which has been acknowledged by the Czech President – on 28th October 2011 Jiří Srnec, the founder of the Black Light Theatre, was awarded the highest state decoration (Credit of the State in the Field of Culture and Arts Medal).
In 2012, on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the existence of the Black Light Theatre, our ensemble will visit 51 Czech towns. After the 51-year history of the theatre travelling around the world, this is going to be the very first tour within the borders of Czech Republic.

In 2012, all the production and management activities have been taken over by Srnec Productions, which also creates the theatrical concept – all-year performances based in Prague, and two travelling ensembles focusing on extensive international tours.
